The Netherlands Residency by Investment Program was officially concluded on 1 March 2024. 

 

Program Overview

Prior to its closure, the Netherlands Residency by Investment Program offered a structured pathway for high-net-worth individuals to obtain residency in one of Europe’s strongest economies. 

Applicants could secure residency within approximately 3 to 5 months, with long-term options for permanent residency and citizenship.

(Historical Program)

Capital Investment 

  • Minimum investment: 1,250,000 EUR  
  • Investment in:  
  • Dutch start-up, or  
  • Venture capital fund  
  • Funds must be held in:  
  • Dutch bank, or  
  • EU bank with Dutch presence  

 

Real Estate Requirement 

  • Secure residential property within 8 months  
  • No minimum property value required

Application Process (Historical)

Submit application and documentation  

  1. Complete qualifying investment  
  2. Government review and approval  
  3. Secure residential property  
  4. Receive residency permit  

Permit validity: 

  • Initial: 3 years  
  • Renewable: 2 additional years  

Pathway to Residency and Citizenship

After 5 years, applicants could: 

  • Apply for permanent residency  
  • Apply for Dutch citizenship  
  • Extend residency status
